Wedding at Food for Thought, National Museum

Located within the elegantly restored 170 year old National Museum of Singapore, this community-inspired social enterprise cafe is a perfect space to hold any whimsical, heart-warming weddings with a nostalgia meets new theme.

Designed to inspire people to come together to “Share the Good Times”, the restaurant’s look is all about honouring our past while looking forward to our future. The colour palette of the restaurant matches the Museum’s own tones of pure white, shades of elegant grey with accents of rich brown, offering a perfect complement for neutral-coloured solemnizations or a lovely contrast for more lively-coloured wedding parties. The round marble table tops, wall mosaics and wooden chairs are a homage to home-style dining rooms and kopitiams Singaporeans grew up with, but updated in contemporary style. The huge industrial-chic circles of lightbulbs that hang down dramatically from the high ceilings are inspired by old-fashioned street festival lighting and have been used effectively by other wedding couples to create a celebratory feeling.

The food served here is inspired by bold Southeast Asian flavours layered with globalised influence. Together with Food for Thought’s usual fan-favourite pancakes and all-day brunch options, you can also expect playful new takes on familiar flavours that grandparents and children will delight equally in like Brown Buttered Chye Poh Salad, Thyme Mustard Ribeye Steak and Crispy Curry Chicken with Kaffir Lime Mayo.
